At Business Dialogue Pty Ltd. (Business Dialogue), we undertake professional market research on behalf of clients. As part of the research undertaken personal information is collected in a number of different ways including receipt of customer lists from clients, through face to face interviews, focus groups and via telephone surveys. Contractors may be used to collect information or to structure it in a database on our behalf. Consequently, Business Dialogue regularly collects, analyses and discloses personal information as part of its research business. We collect personal information directly from individuals as a result of our market research activities. This information is analysed by us to provide our clients with important information about their customers in relation to the products and services that they provide. The information is collected fairly and lawfully. We also collect personal information from third parties. For example, we may receive customer lists from clients or receive personal information from contractors for research undertaken on our behalf. Where we collect personal information from another party, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are aware of who is collecting the information, for what purpose and the types of organisations to which this information is usually disclosed. Where appropriate Business Dialogue has in place arrangements and understandings with the third parties to ensure that the personal information is used in a manner consistent with our obligations under this policy.

Personal information, for example customer lists, may also be disclosed to contractors in order to undertake research on our behalf. The information collected as part of market research may be disclosed to Business Dialogue clients in de-identified form or in a form where individuals can be identified. Your consent must first be obtained before we disclose identified personal information to our client.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information held by us is accurate, complete and up to date for the purposes of Business Dialogue. We encourage you to contact us if you believe the information relating to you requires amendment.

Security

Business Dialogue takes all reasonable steps to ensure that personal information held by it is secure in order to prevent any misuse or wrongful disclosure. Information may be kept until it is no longer required for research purposes whereupon it will be deleted or de-identified.

We require any contractors who receive or collect information on our behalf to provide adequate safeguards to prevent misuse or wrongful disclosure of the information.

Access by Individuals

Upon receipt of a written request, we will provide individuals with access to personal information about them. There may be administrative or legal reasons why we cannot give you access to the information requested. Should access be refused, we will indicate why this has happened.
